To face the horrible realities of gun violence, being with others whose hearts are breaking is a comfort. Fortunately, we are able to gather to light candles, call the names of those who’ve been killed, and in a Christian context, even pray for the perpetrators. It is easy to be angry or offended by those who would rather ignore or deny the problem of military-grade weapons being available to killers. As Christians we are invited to love rather than judge, and then take action for the sake of the vulnerable, marginalized and forgotten.
